FEAR OF FLYING
Travel and fear of flying is a common concern. It is recognised
that over 10% of all travellers experience some kind of fear.
This level of trepidation can range from the slightly concerned
to very serious phobias. On many occasions the seriousness of
the condition may prohibit flying.
Fear of flying is a psychological issue, we all know from
the statistics that flying is one of the safest means of travel,
but this does not detract from a person's concerns.
There are many forms of advice available to ease these concerns,
and individual may find their own particular tools which will
assist them in easing this fear. A few examples are as follows:arrive
at the airport in plenty of time,
familiarise yourself with the airport and airline, ensure
all other elements of your trip are covered, such as insurances,
special arrangements for meals, child care, pet care and all
healthcare questions such as vaccinations and medication.
Ensure that you have all travel documents and visas and any
associated paperwork with you at all times and all are valid.
Pay attention to all announcements both within the terminal
and on the plane especially with respect to safety advice.
Carry any necessary medication in your hand luggage but pay
attention to the format of any fluids you may be carrying.

hand carriage of medical products and supplements.
Without doubt many people suffer certain levels of fear when
flying, this is quite understandable. Some people do benefit
from small intakes of alcohol but be aware that this may lead
to dehydration and on occasions may exacerbate the problem.
Certainly one way of easing this problem is to avoid connecting
flights. Take off and landing can be two of the most stressful
elements when you suffer from fear of flying. It may be worth
securing a direct flight although it may be more expensive.
