Sun burn is a painful condition which should be avoided at all costs due it being the number one cause of skin cancer.
Sun burn may develop after exposure to the sun, and the skin may turn red within 2-6 hours of that exposure. People suffer varying different degrees of pain depending on the level of the burn. The skin will normally begin to peel in 3-8 days and can be itchy and irritating during this process.
Ways which may aid prevention of sunburn are by ensuring that you use a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 or higher. Wear a hat, sunglasses and loose cotton clothes whilst in the sun. Do not spend hours lying in the sun and try and avoid the midday sun. Be aware that even when it does not feel hot due to the wind factor the sun can still burn, so ensure that you still cover up and apply your sunscreen . Remember that you can still burn whilst in water, so apply a water based sunscreen to ensure that you are protected. |
